A good agent will promptly put together a sample itinerary that identifies accessibilities in conveyance, accommodations, and counted on costs.

If you feel like you’re getting the hard sell or the travel agency tells you there’s only package obtainable, keep shopping. You can always go back if you find that they’re right!

Everyone wants to look and feel their best. Teeth whitening is a relatively new trend that is popular in the dentist's chair and in the home.

by Varian Sperks

Everyone wants to look and feel their best. Teeth whitening is a relatively new trend that is popular in the dentist’s chair and in the home.

Methods of teeth whitening, professionally and at home, were first presented around 1989. Over the years, the medical and consumer health awareness communities have conducted studies to judge the safety and effectiveness of teeth whitening methods. In general, these processes have received positive reports in regards to safety and effectiveness.

It’s important to consider several elements when considering teeth whitening processes. Remember the following points:

Both medical and consumer communities have raised some concerns about the risks involved with bleaching. Some bleaching agents may pose cancer-causing risks.

Studies have shown, however, that the concentration of carbamide peroxide in teeth whitening products will not cause any cancer in mouth tissues or gums. An agent naturally present in saliva seems to offset the amount of peroxide that’s emitted by teeth whitening agents.

Much consideration and attention has also been given to the fear of damage or erosion of tooth enamel caused by bleaching agents. After careful study, medical experts now say that more damage is done to a tooth’s enamel by soft drinks or fruit juices than by tooth whitening bleaches.

The issue of nerve endings being affected by teeth whitening is still in its early stages since this can be studied only in longer intervals such as five to eight years after the teeth whitening procedure. Despite this concern there is still little damage being shown to teeth that have undergone whitening and been in for a five to eight year checkup after the process.

It is not possible to have teeth whitening on existing caps and crowns, but you may have the procedure done if you have had simple fillings or root canal. Dental studies to date have not shown any problems from this procedure, but many such studies are still in their infancy.

While the above mentioned studies are valid and accurate it is still best to consult with your dental health professional to decide your best course of action.

Every patient has a unique dental history, so what works for some people may not be the best choice for you. Even the most perfect smile isn’t worth posing risks to your health.

by Rudy Watkins

Obstructive sleep apnea is the most common type of sleep apnea. Medical professionals are still at a loss as to the exact cause. For most people with obstructive sleep apnea, the soft palate is the most affected region. It happens because the muscle relaxes somewhat when the air passage fully collapses and ends up obstructed.

The Period of Interrupted Sleep

Since the air passage collapsed, breathing ceases and the individual wakes up as a result of obstructed air passage. This waking up typically lasts for few seconds and the again the individuals sleeps. This persistent disruption averts the individual from reaching the deep sleep level, that is, Rapid Eye Movement (REM) level sleep, which our body desperately needs in order to become rejuvenated and to fight off against different adverse psychological and physical health conditions.

Possible Risk Factors

Being obese or overweight can be harmful for anyone. So also is obstructive sleep apnea. One of the main causes of obstructive sleep apnea is obesity. It generally happens because of the buildup of extra fat on the sides of the airway resulting in it becoming narrower, especially when the muscles relax. Age is another risk factor of obstructive sleep apnea because aging means reduced muscle mass.

Signs, Symptoms and Complications

Sleep disturbance is the major sign of obstructive sleep apnea. Because of the constant waking and not being able to reach a deep sleep, you may suffer daytime drowsiness, irritability, anxiety, personality changes, memory problems, depression and other symptoms. It could even add to drowsy drive syndrome which increases the risk of having a car accident. Congestive heart failure and stroke risks are higher due to the lack of oxygen.

Medical Treatments

There are many things that can be done to treat obstructive sleep apnea. Weight loss is your first option. This can then be followed up by positive pressure therapy, positional therapy, surgery or oral appliances. Positive airway pressure has three parts, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), bi-level positive airway pressure (BPAP) and autotitration. Positional therapy works with the idea that a certain sleeping position may help the patient with snoring or shortness of breath.

by Frank Robson

Eight studies from the researchers from the Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, US, indicated that the symptoms of Acid Reflux Disease are increased by having a high BMI or body mass index. Acid Reflux symptoms can increase by as much as 50 percent in overweight people compared to people with normal weight. Obesity is not good news at all.

It was shown in 2006 by Dr. B Jacobson, from Boston University of Medicine, USA, that digestive health is affected by excess weight. A normal weight person gaining a bit of weight, can still look fine and not be considered obese, but could still become more prone to Acid Reflux. Also a person who notices his Acid Reflux symptoms become more severe can shed a few pounds to help relieve those symptoms.

So why does obesity matter?

Imagine layers and layers of excess body fat compressing the stomach, pushing it in, localizing and trapping stomach acids in little natural enclosures in the stomach folds so formed. Then the effects of indiscriminately imbibed food, and resultant hernias. And we are still not considering the hormonal modifications going on in the body that cause your obesity, and possibly, some problems in most of your body functions, like digestion.

Twenty percent of Americans today suffer from periodic Acid Reflux disease or GERD. Acid Reflux can then interfere with daily things like eating or sleeping. Obesity is becoming an epidemic today and helps to add to this percentage. Certain cancers including cancer of the esophagus have been linked to obesity.

Overweight people are prone to weaker esophageal sphincters and tend to develop a condition related to Acid Reflux called a hiatus hernia. This is when the upper part of the stomach bulges out above the diaphragm. There is so much to fit in such a limited space, that folds can become permanent hernias.

Another concern for people suffering from Acid Reflux is that research shows that even when undergoing a surgery for weight loss, Acid Reflux can still worsen. Opinions conflict over whether to treat an overweight person through surgery.

What seems to be very clear is that obesity increases pressure in the abdomen, and causes the contents of the stomach to swish back into the food pipe. Obesity, indirectly leads to slowing of movement and less exercise, and basically loss of various muscle tones. The Esophageal Sphincter could possibly be among those affected.

by Christian Goodman

It is actually amazing that we can in fact stand on two feet without falling. And not only that, many of us can run, jump, spin around in circles or even ride a bike down a steep stony mountain hill without falling.

Thanks to our balance system, healthy people can do these things.

Vertigo or dizziness results from a balance system that is not functioning properly. I will refer to these conditions as the same as the problems for both originate from the same source.

We’ve all felt dizziness and had vertigo at some time in our life. Be it from sailing in bad waves, driving on a dusty road, traveling to a high altitude or even having a few too many at the bar (I could tell you some stories).

Typically, there is no need to find a cure for such short term occurances.

Chronic dizziness or vertigo affects a huge number of people. They experience this unsteady feeling daily or at least many times throughout the year.

An improperly functioning balance system causes the chronic dizziness or vertigo.

Below are the three balance systems we all have

body sense eyes ears

Our balance system is so advantaged that even if one part goes out, we may feel it a little but we’ll still function pretty much normally. Most blind people can walk normally - so can a person who has problems with the balance system in his/her ears.

We need to exercise all three sytems though, because we are not so fortunate when more than one of our balance systems is experiencing problems.

Getting the balance systems strong involves some choreography if you will.

Almost always dizziness or vertigo is due to the balance systems suffering from muscle tension surrounding key areas (head to pelvic region, ears or eyes.)

Ear impairments will cause you to view your surrounds slightly differently than the balance system in your eyes do.

These two balance systems send two different messages to the brain. This causes confusion when your brain tries to process the information. Needless to say, you feel dizzy.

If you’ve ever tried eyeglasses that are too strong for you, you know exactly what I mean.

A perfectly functioning balance system in the ears and body would help you continue functioning when the eyes are not up to par. However, normally, dizziness still occurs because it just is not likely that both of the other systems will be in perfect balance.

The solution is to strengthen and loosen up all muscles around all your balance systems - as well as strengthening your body’s balance awareness.

You do not even have to do this perfectly. If you only bring each of these systems to 70% function, that is enough for you to never feel dizziness or vertigo again. That is exactly what my natural vertigo and dizziness program does.

Want to have a better looking body? Want to burn more calories even when you're not exercising? Want to reshape your body the easy way?

by Caleb Lee

Want to have a better looking body? Want to burn more calories even when you’re not exercising? Want to reshape your body the easy way?

One of the best ways to reshape your body and look better is to build muscle on your body. You can go for a more defined look, or a really BIG look, the choice is yours. Here are some things you can do to build muscle fast.

Contrary to popular belief, building muscle is not that hard. Here are a few great tips to help you build muscle fast so you can reshape your body and even burn more calories when you’re not exercising.

Tip #1 - Eat Like Crazy

If you’re exercising intensely, it’s VERY important to eat a lot. You are damaging your muscles when you exercise and they need good food to repair themselves and grow back bigger and stronger. (the bigger you want to get the more food you should eat!)

If you follow the correct diet you can build muscle while not gaining that much fat… even though you’re eating a lot. The important thing is to feed your muscles because they need lots of nutrients to repair themselves and grow.

Tip Number 2 — Increase Your Rep Volume

You need lots of volume to build muscle fast. There’s no need to go overboard though. About 10 reps per muscle group should be plenty — you don’t want your workouts to last too long.

Tip Number 3 — Eat Lots More High Quality Protein

Protein is very important for the regrowth and repair of your muscles. You have to make sure you give your muscles plenty of protein if you’re going to build muscle.

Some people end up taking huge amounts of protein while others don’t get enough; however, it’s important that you take the right amount. Usually it’s best to get about one gram of protein for each pound of weight you have. So, if you weight about 150, you’ll need 150 grams of protein every day.

Tip #4 - Limit Cardio

IF you do too much cardio, it’s possible you’ll hamper your muscle building results. So when you’re focusing on putting on quality muscle, lay off the cardio a bit.

Doing a horse back riding in the wilderness in Kenya is one of the most exciting and unique activities one can engage in while on safari in Kenya. One can take the horseback riding as part of the holiday package or can take it as an exclusive package for those that are experienced in horseback riding.

The good thing with horse back riding routes is that they avoid the tourist vans, roads or even lodges. The riders will find themselves alienated from the rest of the world and the life takes a slower pace. The camps that one is set up in are quite comfortable and managed by experienced staff. There is nothing like the thrill of hearing a load roar of a lion or watching graceful antelopes as you run along them.

As part of the excitement, one gets to ride through the mountains and forests, into open savanna and through escarpments and waterholes that are teeming with wildlife such as wildebeest and zebras You might. also get to see elephants eating quietly. All of this excitement is experienced as you take on a horseback safari in Kenya.

Horseback riding are done along the shadows of the biggest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro in the Chyulu Hills, at around the Lake Naivasha area, Mt Kenya area, Maasai Mara reserve and Amboseli National park.

Types of Horses are Somali-Arab crossbred horses, well schooled thoroughbred horses and thoroughbred cross polo ponies. There are horses to suit all riders from beginners to experts and Patent Safety horse, which have been trained to be careful with children and non-experienced riders.

Laikipia Ride, Kenya

Laikipia is a unique wildlife area and contains an enormous diversity of wildlife from the Big Five downward. It is famous as the last reserve of the Jackson’s Hartebeest and is home of several rare species such as the Reticulated Giraffe, Beisa Oryx, Grevy’s Zebra, Gerenuk and Somali Ostrich amongst others. In recent years the various landowners have tended away from exclusive cattle ranching to embrace more tolerance of game and even large predators such as lion and hyena are more abundant now than they were 25 years ago.

The Mount Kenya Safari Club

The Safari club is blessed with a magnificent view of Mount Kenya and has 115 luxurious guest rooms which are set over 100 acres of neat gardens that offer the guests a high level of comfort, adventure and relaxation. Some of the club great guests have included Winston Churchill and Bing Cosby.

With a choice of 7 thoroughbreds, guests can ride at any time, using English saddles, always in the company of one or more of our grooms. We have a good range of hard hats, which we insist that riders wear. Children under 12 years are not permitted to ride.

The Region of Loisaba

The private game ranch in Loisaba is located between the border of Laikipia and Northern Frontier District. The ranch is only a few km away from the equator and its a land that is magnificently beautiful and the farm management are working hand in hand with the locals including the Masai and Samburu to preserve the enviroment.

Horseback-ride through the wild canyons of the two great rivers that span the vast property. Loisaba is immense: bigger than ten of the world’s fully-fledged nations. You could take months exploring this land and never encounter the same view twice. On horseback it is possible to get unusually close to wildlife and our stable of horses have all been reared from birth in the bush so are quite accustomed to its presence. It is however a reasonable degree of riding skill required.

Riding through the Amboseli National Park

This national park is located on the North West side of Mount Kilimanjaro, on the border of Tanzania. A company by the name of Ride Kenya offers horse riding tours in this game-rich park in East Africa. The 6 night tour starts at the Kenyan Tanzania border and passes through the Amboseli National park and finally ends at Chyulu hills.

Riding through the Amboseli guarantees the rider to see many types of wild animals including elephants, buffaloes, hippos, lions ,cheetahs and huge herds of zebra and wildebeest. Amboseli is located at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro so the view is breathtaking and awesome.

We’ve all watched the shows on Trip, Discovery, Animal Planet, etc., and each of us is swept out by the masses, food, and scenery. The world outside of our basic environments is an amusive and
special place, but free time and money are wanted commodities that can severely fix our opportunities to travel and extend our horizons. “Traveling on a budget” can make the world accessible to many who would otherwise not view such an risk possible.

Three Living Accommodations Points for Traveling on a Budget:

Hotels
A leading condition is that travel is about sightseeing, not where one stops. It’s significant to have a clean room and bed, but as precedencies lie, the experiences outside of the hotel are the ones to
remember. One way to save money is to book a hotel that isn’t focused in the middle of major tourist areas, usually on the outskirts of town. Safety however is always a consideration; so don’t ever
devote this when trying to save money. Depending on the area, bus fare or even walking to tourist hot-spots can add even more to your savings. So leave the neon signals and under-the-pillow
chocolates for the tycoons and moguls. The cyberspaces has many sites that cater to budget travelers.

Hostels
Today’s hostels are no longer for young only. The cost rate is $6-$20 a night, depending on the location. If you have never stayed at a hostel, you should know that you sleep in a dorm-like setting
with 10-20 other people. Many hostels offer single-sex suites and mixed roomsmake sure to ask! Storage Lockers are available for baggage and valuables, and typically there is a common area for food
preparation or a cup of coffee, thus cutting back on the cost of eating out. There are also bathroom areas to shower down and change.

Hostels offer up a remarkable opportunity for meeting fellow travelers. Make sure to ask them for money saving travel tips. Each hostel is new, so make sure to find out the rules of the establishment at
check-in. Noise and miss of privacy are the drawbacks, but in the long run these are small prices to pay when trying to keep travel costs low.

Camping
A third selection is encampment. Campsites typically have a water supply and bath and shower facilities. During the warm seasons, camping provides a great opportunity to feel the natural setting of your travel destination. Evident drawbacks are possible wet or cold weather and rustic sleeping conditions. When circumstances allow, this is the cheapest option for the budget traveler.

Traveling should not only be a pastime for the rich and famous. When done on a budget it is available to one and all! Staying in places such as those listed above is not only a means of saving money. They can allow for a fuller travel experience. You will see things that are ordinarily off the beaten path and will meet a more divers group of people. Often travelers are herded into latest places instead of seeing the true beauty of their destination.

Osteopathic medicine is a kind of medicinal practice in which the entire body is taken into consideration instead of looking at symptoms separately. This type of medicine is very “in” right now, especially for those who suffer from pain in their muscles and joints. A lot of people believe that an osteopath is your best option when you suffer from neck pain. Obviously, if this is your first visit to an osteopath, you are probably nervous, but you can relax. Here is what you can expect to experience when you treat neck pain with an osteopath:

The first part of your visit will be an exam that feels more like a visit to a “traditional” doctor. You’ll most likely give your complete medical history and also receive a physical examination. In many cases, your osteopath might order extra tests to help narrow down exactly why your neck is in pain. You might have an X-Ray taken to see if there is any physical damage to the vertebrae in your neck, but don’t be surprised if your osteopath pays attention to other parts of your body as well!

You should know that your visit to an osteopath will involve quite a bit of touching. Osteopathic medicine is “hands on” medicine.

Your Osteopath might use any of the following methods to treat your neck pain:

Counterstrain technique: this technique involves moving you into a position that will help your body restore motion to any of your muscles that might have been strained or restrained.

Muscle Energy technique: your osteopath will give you specific exercises in which you will use your muscles from a specific position and move them in specific directions.

Soft Tissue technique: Pressure is applied to the muscles around your spine by your osteopath. This technique might involve deep pressure, traction or rhythmic stretching.

Thrust technique: Your osteopath will use a high velocity force to reintroduce movement to your joints and muscles. Thrust is used to correct any asymmetry in your muscles. This method should also take care of any restricted movements, tissue changes or muscle tenderness you might have been experiencing.

Your osteopath might also use a low level laser or acupuncture techniques to help treat your neck pain.

An osteopathic visit might sound scary, but there is no reason to be frightened. Most people who visit an osteopath don’t experience any pain. Most of the time osteopathic visits have been reported to be pleasant and relaxing!

Some people confuse osteopaths and chiropractors and while the two professionals seem similar, they are very different. Chiropractors treat your joints and spine. Osteopaths, on the other hand, work to treat your entire body.
