INTRODUCTION: High blood pressure or hypertension means high pressure (tension) in the arteries. It does not mean excessive emotional tension, although emotional tension and stress can temporarily increase blood pressure.
Hypertension rarely has any symptoms, but it can create serious problems such as stroke, heart failure, heart attack and kidney failure.
It forces the heart to work much harder and can damage the arteries, causing them to narrow faster. It can also harm many parts of the body and is a major health problem in the US affecting 1/3 of Americans or 65 million persons, according to the American Heart Association (AHA).
HYPERTENSION: Most commonly referred to as “high blood pressure”, HTN or HPN, is a medical condition in which the blood pressure is chronically elevated and is considered to be present when a person’s systolic blood pressure is consistently 140 mmHg or greater, and/or their diastolic blood pressure is consistently 90 mmHg or greater.
It can be categorized as either essential (primary) or secondary and is one of the most frequent occuring complex disorders, with genetic implication averaging 30 percent. Hypertension can be a short term or lifelong disease, depending on the cause and is dangerous because it forces the heart to work extra hard.

Women have so many reasons for wanting to have a breast augmentation procedure done. For a lot of women it is about looking more attractive or feminine but for some it could be because they feel self conscious about the size of their breasts. Whatever your motive is for having a breast augmentation it gives you a boost of self confidence that you may not have had after you gave birth, got older, or for medical reasons such as a mastectomy.
Many women are born with the unfortunate problem of having disproportionate breasts. It is much more common then you may think, and a lot of women complain that one breast is bigger than another. For some women this can lead to a life of being very self conscious about wearing certain types of clothes or even finding a well fitted bra. Although some women strictly get breast augmentation to make themselves feel better, other women do it because it will make them feel normal again.
To help you decide if breast augmentation is for you, you should plan to have a consultation with a medical professional that specializes in breast augmentation before you make a final decision. The doctor will discuss the entire procedure, and will walk you through the surgery as well as the after care. They will also talk to you about why you want to have the surgery. There are many risks associated with the procedure and to fully understand what will take place, a consultation is essential so that you are comfortable with what will happen both in the surgery and to your body after.

Diabetes is a big business to the medical supply industry but what is diabetes? The questions of what is diabetes is asked by a lot of people and the answer is not as complex as you may think.
Diabetes is the inability for the patient?s digestive system to produce enough insulin to break down the glucose from carbohydrates that are taken when a person eats food. If there isn?t enough insulin to break down the glucose, or the patient?s system is resistant to the effects of insulin, then that glucose over takes the system and can begin to damage the internal organs of the body. So when you ask ?what is diabetes?? you are really asking a question about the digestive system of a human being and how that system processes the different materials that we take in. As our society becomes more and more dependent on processes sugars and simple carbohydrates more and more people are developing diabetes symptoms. This prompts the World Health Organization to answer the question of ?what is diabetes?? with the answer that it is becoming an epidemic.
