A Look At Orlando Vacation Home Rentals

Orlando is one of the world’s top tourist destinations, but is much more that a city tailored for theme park devotees. Orlando also has markets, shows, art galleries, exhibitions, beautiful lakes and parks, all easily available for the visitor who wants something a little different. Everything a visitor could possibly want is in Orlando and that is why people return year after year.

There isn’t a friendlier city in the world and one where almost anything is possible with plenty of shopping malls, great food of every type and specialist shops like Outdoor World at the top of International Drive with a 17,000 gallon super aquarium, this store is so large you could spend all day there. With so many places to visit and things to see, the information provided here cannot even brush the surface but will give an insight into some of the not so well publicized attractions.

The Central Florida Zoo for instance only opened back in 1975 and was owned by the Sanford Fire Department prior to that but is the home to over four hundred animals and is well worth a visit. Even though it is privately owned, it is run by a charitable group with the intention of providing classes for children and protecting species that are only found in Florida and other world wide exotic animals.

You may have heard of the name Tiffany’s but did you know that it was way back in 1942 that the Morse Museum in Winter Park that started displaying the collections of Louis Tiffany. Tiffany glass, clayware and ornaments are all on display here including a specially designed chapel interior shown at the Columbian Exposition back in 1893.

For the young and young at heart, extensive night time facilities including music and dance are available at Disney’s incredible Pleasure Island and Universals answer to Disney, called Citywalk, to name just a couple of places. No adult, despite any thoughts to the opposite could go to Orlando and find nothing of interest as the range of attractions for both the young and mature is huge.

Another popular attraction for people on an Orlando vacation is the Orlando Science Center and is in fact one of the largest buildings of its type allowing the visitor access to ten huge exhibition halls which range from the Florida swamplands to the surface of Mars and much more. If locomotives are your preference then you need to go along to the International Trolley and Train Museum which has fourteen trains running simultaneously in mountains, wilderness, urban areas and includes three waterfalls that use 12,000 gallons of water per hour.

If you have seen the Titanic-ship of Dreams film then you will enjoy the exhibition along International Drive that tells the story using large sets and depictions from the ship as a background, to the often eerie tale. Of course if you prefer something more relaxing then you should visit Lake Eola Park, situated in the heart of downtown, is the city’s main attraction with 43 acres of beautiful sidewalks and a boating lake.

Of course how could you possibly visit Orlando and not go to at least one theme park and for those of you who are unsure; Disney has four main theme parks, not including the water parks, and Universal has it’s own versions but the beautiful Seaworld should also not be forgotten either. If you have never visited Orlando before, you must try it at least once and it doesn’t really matter when you go if you want fairly good weather but holiday seasons do get busy, especially Christmas; well, who wouldn’t want to spend Christmas with Mickey.
